Questions About Lattice Enabled Nuclear Reactions : Mechanisms and Materials

نویسنده

  • Haiko Lietz
چکیده

— Questions serve to focus discussions of research problems and engineering challenges. This is the first of three papers, which will pose and address technical questions about Lattice Enabled Nuclear Reactions (LENR). It deals with theoretical mechanisms and key materials in LENR experiments and potential power generators.

Role of cluster formation in the LENR process

Presence and absence of expected radiation, occurrence of nuclear reactions having only one apparent product, and transmutation reactions involving addition of more than one deuteron all indicate involvement of large clusters of deuterons in the LENR process. These clusters are proposed to hide their Coulomb barrier and to react with isolated deuterons to produce fusion and to react with larger...

Development of RadRob15, A Robot for Detecting Radioactive Contamination in Nuclear Medicine Departments

Accidental or intentional release of radioactive materials into the living or working environment may cause radioactive contamination. In nuclear medicine departments, radioactive contamination is usually due to radionuclides which emit high energy gamma photons and particles. These radionuclides have a broad range of energies and penetration capabilities. Rapid detection of radioactive contami...

Proton beam dosimetry by CR-39 track-etched detector

Background: High and intermediate energy protons are not able to form a track in a solid state nuclear track detector (SSNTD) directly. However, such tracks can be formed through secondary particles created during primary radiation nuclear reactions in a SSNTD. Materials and Methods: The protons with primary energies of 9.6 and 30 MeV available at the cyclotron accelerator with corresponding lo...

The Nuclear Lattice Model of Proton-induced Multi-fragmentation Reactions*

A model of proton-induced multi-fragmentation reactions based on percolation theory is described and applied to experimental data. With only the simplest of assumptions the essential features of the mass-yield curves, such as their U-shape and their power-law dependence for low-to-medium masses, are reproduced. However, the model is. as will be demonstrated, flexible enough to allow for the inc...

A 4 A 6 A 4 A 6 Abstracts : Approximation , Lattice Boltzmann , Metrology and PDEs

Many complex systems are said to exhibit so called 'emergent behaviour'. However, this is often very hard to define in practice and many questions arise such as what is it and why do some systems have it and some dont? In this talk I will look at a particular example of a complex system that arises when looking at a novel material. By considering this one example we can ask very precise questio...
